With today's technology there's a lot of equipment promising to turn our bodies into fitness machines. We all have bought countless exercise machines, tapes and paid for expensive gym memberships all in the name of fitness. Ever wonder why you were so fit when we were younger. We are told that your metabolism slows down as you get older faster. The truth is as you get older you lose muscle mass. When you loss muscle you burn less calories,the more muscle you have the more fat you burn.

<br>When I finished high school there was no more physical education classes so and I starting gaining weight. My eating was the same but my activities had changed. So I started going to the gym to start an exercise routine that included cardio and weight training. Although it made changes they were not noticeable to the naked eye.

<br>I needed something else that would give my body more of a challenge, then I found out about body weight exercise better know to some as calisthenics. Calisthenics is an exercise the consist of simple movement performed by using your own body weight.
<br>
<br>Body weight exercise is and has always been the best fitness regiment for fat loss. It builds endurance, stamina and strength and has been around for more than 60 years. Gymnast use this type of exercise it gives them upper body strength to help them with the parallel bars and the vault and other routines that involves stamina and strength.
<br>
<br>Going to the gym is great but if you want to be in great shape try these,
<br>6 body weight workout sure to get you into tip top shape.
<br>
<br>• Sit-ups or crunches- lie down with back flat to the ground bending your knees toward the ceiling. Place your hand lightly behind your head making sure not to add pressure to your neck.
<br>
<br>• Push-ups – this exercise is very common and you can do them military style with straight legs or you can do them with your knees bent, whichever is comfortable for you.
<br>
<br>• Pull-ups- do this exercise if you have access to a bar or if you're close to a park. In a standing position grasp the bar in a under handed position. Using only your arms to pull you up to where you chin meets the bar. Let yourself down slowly. Repeat.
<br>
<br>• Squats- Stand with feet apart, squat as much as possible while keeping your arms parallel to the floor.
<br>
<br>• Jumping Jacks- Stand with both legs close together, hop-up while spreading your feet apart as you hop. Clap hands over your head then go back to the starting position.
<br>
<br>• Arm Rotation- standing straight stretch out your arms horizontally. Move your hands in a circular motion both in forward and reverse direction
<br>
<br>Performing high reps of body weight exercise will give you great results and burn fat fast. Repeat each exercise 3 times and then increase you number of reps as you get stronger. Always began with the core exercise this will help exercise your body in a balance manner. By doing these exercise they will promote resistance, flexibility, agility, and coordination.
